3rd Warmest November, What brings December?

The NWS says this past November ranked as the 3rd warmest behind Nov. 1985 & 1978.  As you know, I’m a big believer in weather cycles so I looked at what happened in December 1985?   It went from the warmest November to the 7th coldest December.   I’m not saying that will happen again this year since I see no signs of the “Polar Vortex” developing over the east for at least the next 2 weeks, BUT, history has a way of repeating itself so don’t be surprised to see the second half of December to turn very cold.   Typically when Winter gets off to a very cold start, you see what’s called the “January Thaw”, a rather mild spell for several weeks.   This winter is off to a very warm start over the eastern half of the country, so I would suspect there will be no January thaw, but instead a 6-8 week spell of brutally cold and snowy weather for the eastern states & parts of the South.  That is not good news for Mardi Gras fans as it is very early this year.   Just some thoughts based on past experiences.

Was seeing my post the other day on Climate cycles referred to as a “rant”.  Geez, why is it when someone tries to encourages debate on the issues, he/she is called names, made fun of, called anti-science yada, yada.   Either you’re a believer or you are an “infidel”  .   Hummm…what does that sound like to you?   Who’s the radical here?   All I want is honest debate, not a press dominated/dictated by a powerful few.   The UN Climate Conference in Paris is a classic example.    Careful what you read about during the next 1-2 weeks.
