Today was an example of location, location, location being the most important verification of our forecast. Even though the forecast was wrong (so far) for 80% of our viewers, 20% received a soaking of 3-5+”. It’s easy to Monday morning quarterback, but this was a difficult call as David Bernard pointed out last night highlighting the “high degree of uncertainty”. We still have a high potential for heavy rains Friday morning so it is important for you to check our weather app, along with watching Shelby Latino’s morning weathercasts, before you head out on the roadways. It could be one of those days where you’ll need to postpone/delay your trip to the store/mall until after the heavy rains pass. There are no certainties that we will get flooding rains tomorrow, however, until the upper low lifts to our north and east, we need to pay attention.
Several things that “irked me” with today’s storm coverage…several stations showing water on roads caused NOT by the heavy rainfall but by the storm tides pushed into the Barataria basin & Lake Pontchartrain. This was an example what persistently strong south winds will do to us. We need to make this a teaching moment so that when a strong tropical system approaches, those affected by tidal rises know what to expect. And our President wants to take back monies Congress agreed to give Louisiana for coastal restoration starting this year? Need to let your representatives know the President is wrong on this issue. Perhaps we call it….Louisiana Matters!!!

Good job Bob but it look like it's going to be flooding all day today not going to let up to tomorrow you need to start a podcast it keeps you busy and it keeps us informed
Bob you remind me of when Drew Brees sat out that one game last season due to injury. He was on the sidelines working as each offensive play took place, just as if he were in the game...
Any clue on what's actually going to happen today? You are the ONLY meteorologist that I trust. Right now I'm feeling a bit like Chicken Little waiting for the sky to fall. And I'm allabout "Louisiana Matters"... Miss seeing you each morning. :(
Any idea on things today? I'm feeling a bit like Chicken Little waiting on the sky to fall!!!! So miss seeing and hearing you each morning. Yours has always been the only weather I trust.
