Finally a New Voice...

With a new President coming into office next year, I can predict there will be changes coming to the Climate Change agenda.  The media has focused on the one issue of CO2 being the driver of our current warming CYCLE.  You had almost daily articles espousing the Alarmist’s viewpoint that we must curtail & end fossil fuel use.  To find any other viewpoints were difficult, if not impossible.  But finally in the November issue of PHYSICS TODAY, there are 2 articles featuring other viewpoints.  The first says Ocean Spray is an outsized influence on weather & climate.  The second says  Land’s complex role in climate change is greater than most believe.   “…most reporting on climate has focused on the possibility of catastrophic warming due to carbon dioxide & other greenhouse gases…”   “ One often overlooked human factor is land use.  Deforestation, dryland farming, irrigated agriculture, overgrazing, etc. can disrupt Earth’s natural balances & change weather patterns.”  Wow!   An opposing peer reviewed article saying that “ to mitigate climate change at local, regional, & global scales, we must begin to think beyond greenhouse gases. “     I predict many scientists will now come out against the “War” on fossil fuels and support the views that our economy (and the World’s) runs on affordable & DEPENDABLE energy.   The EPA needs to reverse its view that CO2 is a pollutant.  It is a trace greenhouse gas that is necessary for the production of food on the Planet.   We should be focusing on how we feed the hungry, shelter the homeless and provide good paying jobs, not on how do we lower our standard of living to produce less CO2.     I believe there will be a new source of energy to fuel our cars and warm/cool our homes somewhere in the next 30-50 years.  But we are not there yet.  To be continued…

As we reach mid-November,  several cold fronts has made us feel better.  However, we have yet to have the REAL  COLD air arrive to make us bring out the heavy weather gear.  Our next front this weekend will do that, but it appears the core of the cold will stay to our north & east.  Some 30s on the North Shore & 40s south by Sunday morning will have us grabbing the sweaters & coats.    Frankly, it should make it feel more like Thanksgiving instead of early October.  Before it reaches us, we’ll see more 80+ warmth on Thursday & Friday.   Stay tuned!
