Arctic Blast Will Be Brief...

Models again today have kept the moderation that was indicated yesterday and now it appears highly unlikely that the South Shore will see a freeze on Monday morning.  We will still see a big cool down for Saint's Sunday and tailgating will be uncomfortable due to chilly temps and brisk north winds.  Before we get there, we'll have a real warm up on Friday as highs will soar into the mid 70s, especially if the sun can break through the early morning fog & low clouds.  Ahead of a strong cold front around noon on Saturday will be some strong showers & maybe some thunder.  All of the precipitation could be gone before noon with the real chill arriving after dark.   The North Shore could dip to near freezing on Monday, but the cold will not linger with a rapid warm up on Tuesday.  Yet another cold front plows through on Wednesday although I don't see a deep dip in the Jet stream that could bring the bitter cold (25-35 below) in Canada into the lower 48.  The signs of a southern snowstorm towards the end of this month are not there tonight.  We will see several strong fronts come through during the last 10-12 days of January, but none of the models are developing a Gulf low that could bring any snow near us.   You cold air freaks...don't give up hope.  You still have February.

Now for the important stuff...The Rams will give the Saints all we can handle, but I expect the 12th man (our home crowd) will be the deciding factor causing the Rams to make some crucial penalties down the stretch with the Saints winning 38-31. I expect Drew Brees to return for his final year in 2019, but he must realize his window of opportunities (to win the Super Bowl) is closing.   I just feel this is our year, but we must get off to a fast start and not try to play catch up like we did with the Eagles.  Unlike the Chiefs vs Patriots, the weather will not be a factor.  Stay tuned!
