I remember growing up in NW Indiana (Hammond) where January often saw many weeks go by with the temperature never going above freezing and snow covering the ground. We have seen a colder pattern set in the past 10 days, but even up there it hasn't stayed brutally cold very long. This Winter season has seen the main storm track vary around to where surges of warmer air have made many storms more rain than snow. We warmed into the 70s today ahead of our next cold front that arrives midday on Wednesday. Highs could top 70 again before tumbling into the 40s by dark. Thursday and Friday will be sunny & dry, but temperatures will struggle to reach the low to mid 50s. If you're dressed for it, the weather will be beautiful. We should see a gradual warming into and through the weekend with the next cold shot coming next Tuesday & Wednesday. Long range models keep hinting at a low forming in the Gulf, but the closer we get to the event, models have shifted the lows much farther to the north. In the short term, some strong storms could form ahead of tomorrow's front with a cold rain lingering behind it. Don't let the morning warmth fool you or your kids. You'll need the heavy weather gear by late in the PM. Stay tuned!
The hurt still lingers from Sunday's loss, but you have to smile at seeing all of the billboards going up around town and even in Atlanta. Driving back in from the airport is a sign that reads..."NFL Reffed us." I don't think "reffed" was a word, but it is now! The Atlanta sign reads..."NFL Bleaux it, Saints were robbed". Perhaps you have seen others that you'd like to share? Have at it!
