I remember a song growing up in my youth that I really liked. I think it was a song in a movie from the 40s that has been re-recorded by many performers since. One of the cutest is Idina Menzel & Michael Bublé from 2014. It's on You Tube if you want to listen to it. It really isn't that cold outside, but it feels cold because we were so warm (80) yesterday. Fortunately, the core of this current cold will stay well north and east, but most of our nation is seasonally chilly for December.
Low clouds hung around all day keeping temps mainly in the 30s with a biting wind from the north. Even back where the sun was out in Texas temps remains in the 40s & 50s.
The rest of this week will be dry until a storm system off of California heads our way for this weekend.
Models are indicating a Gulf low will form well off our coast on Saturday, but any shift to the north would bring us a cold rain on Saturday. As I mentioned in previous posts, Christmas week will NOT be cold. In fact Christmas Day could be 70+. Not what you " cold air freaks" want to hear, but it means there should be no weather travel problems around the Gulf South for those traveling back to family. Another Gulf Low could form for New Year's week. Stay tuned!
