Yesterday I mentioned my hernia surgery today would be my 1st operation without Nancy Parker covering it for Ch. 8. Well I felt Nancy was with me and Dr. Richardson at Ochsner as he and his staff were flawless.
Nancy's husband, Glynn, trademarked that saying and you can get various products (t-shirts, socks etc) with that logo on it. Thank you Glynn.
After several sunny, but cool, days, our weather is about to go into the dumper (or dumpster if you prefer) for this weekend. A strong, slow moving upper disturbance over Oklahoma will develop a surface low over the Gulf to our south and east tomorrow. This will open up the Gulf moisture for heavy rains and gusty winds. Here we might see 1-2" at most, but areas east of Mobile Bay through the Florida Beaches could get 3-4"+.
The super cold air has moderated over Canada, but it is rebuilding over Alaska where temps are 40-45 degrees below zero.
Clouds and rain will keep us chilly (50s) this weekend and model guidance still calls for a mild weather pattern for most of the eastern states during Christmas. There are signs that the eastern upper trough will return for the first week of January bringing that bitter cold into the lower 48. Will it push all the way down to the Gulf Coast and bring us a hard freeze? Way too soon to know, but I'll be watching and so should you. Stay tuned!
