Even Bailey Looks Cold...

Once the sun came out this afternoon, it felt nice as temps were in he lower 60s.  However, after 3 pm, the winds started to pick up and the temps began to tumble.  My usual afternoon walk with Bailey was a brisk one as she looked like the chill was beginning to make her cold.
We best get use to it as the next 48 hours will be on the nippy side.  Tomorrow morning lows will dip into the 30s on the North Shore with 40s south while Thursday's highs will struggle to get much above 50 despite all day sunshine.

The clouds to our NW will pull away so that the next 3-4 days should see abundant sunshine.  Friday morning will be the coldest with the North Shore likely to see some upper 20s with the South Shore dipping to near freezing away from Lake P. Precautions should be taken for any of your tender plants for Friday morning.  Highs will warm back to 60+ with 65-70 on Saturday and 70+ for Sunday through Tuesday. David says Tuesday could even approach 80!   Our next front won't arrive until next Wednesday so we should have many days of dry weather.

The super cold air (35-40+ below zero) lingers up in Canada, but after our current cool down, it should stay well to our north and east during the next 10-14 days.   The crest on the Mississippi at the Carrollton gage has been upped to 16.9' on March 4th.   The Corps of Engineers has said they will not open the Spillway as they expect the huge falls (1-2'/day) happening on the Ohio River will allow the lower Mississippi to slowly fall once the current crest passes us. Stay tuned!
