A Bertha Surprise? Nah!

Yesterday I mentioned we had several upper swirls over Florida and this morning, NHC issued a graphic outlining an area they believe has a very slight (20%) chance for surface development during the next couple of days.

Satellite and radar presentations are not impressive with the hint of a swirl SE of Jacksonville hugging the coast.  One reason NHC is not bullish on development is the upper environment that has low pressure over the eastern Gulf creating strong wind shear over this system.
Regardless, it will not have any impacts on our weather as we remain under the influence of a slow moving upper low near Dallas.   Until that low gets farther to the east, we'll have higher rain chances again on Wednesday.

It's interesting to see it warmer up north (85-90) while most of the South is in the 70s.   Clouds and rain are our friends at times.

Most of this morning's rain is now to our east and it looks to turn sunny and dry this afternoon.  I have some concern that a surge of moisture down over the Gulf will rotate back over us later tonight into midday on Wednesday.  You'll want to keep the umbrellas handy.

I'll finish with some recent paintings by my wife Brenda ,who shows you can still look like a Sophisticated Lady despite the downpours.  If you're interested in any of them, let me know. Stay tuned!
