Laura Leaves Bad Memories...

Several of you have asked if I could show the whole track of Laura, from when she was a Depression to a hurricane to her path inland so here it is.  All the little wobbles have been smoothed out and you can see she was a well behaved storm with no loops or major path changes like other storms.

Photos & videos out of Lake Charles look similar to what I came back to after Katrina.  Recovery will take weeks & months if not years.  You can still find a well defined circulation moving across northern Tennessee with even hints of several feeder bands.

Local impacts have lessened as seas have decreased, but the south winds might hold up the water levels a little while longer.  Some rain bands are working their way down into SE LA/MS and it could get stormy before the sun sets.

Our miserably humid weather covers the eastern third of the country with 70+ dew points all the way up north.   There are no signs of any cooler weather coming south out of Canada.

NHC (National Hurricane Center) is watching yet more potential tropical troubles.   Everything is way out over the Atlantic coming off of Africa so nothing will be a issue for another 5-7 days.

There is a surge of moisture moving over the central Gulf that could increase our rain chances for Sunday and Monday.  Otherwise, take a deep breath knowing that we have a break in what has been a busy 2020 Hurricane season . We know there is still way more to come.  Stay tuned!

Faithful Bob Breck, thanks again.
I hope the next you go on a fishing trip you catch your limit of record breaking speckled trout and red fish. You deserve it!
