Based on the earliest visible(daylight) satellite views, both tropical storms appear to be better organized. NHC says Laura remains the same due to still having several centers. However, it appears to me, a new center may be trying to form farther to the south of the NHC center location.
If that happens, then Laura would not pass directly over Hispaniola and would stay over the warm open waters to the south. That would totally mean the latest NHC forecast track would have to be adjusted farther to the south on their 10 AM update.
Last night's center line was over Port Fourchon while this morning it's near Morgan City. Don't be surprised to see that trend continue. The farther to the south and west it goes, the lesser the main impacts for us and Mississippi.
On the other hand, Tropical Storm Marco has shifted course that brings it closer to Louisiana before turning to Texas. That would bring some impacts to us later tomorrow and Monday.
NHC's landfall location hasn't changed, but the mid part over the central Gulf is closer to us. It's something to watch out for later today, but I still feel this is Texas' storm. Why the shift in course closer to us?
That deep upper trough is still across the western Gulf and you can see how that SW flow down near Marco is turning it more to the north. We don't want that trend to continue as the farther to the north it goes before turning to the west increases the danger/threat to the Louisiana coast. That will be my focus on later updates today. Before we worry about Laura, let's not blow off Marco since it hasn't been following where the models say it should go. The main impacts for NOLA IF the track gets closer would be getting in on the heavy squalls that will rotate around the eastern side. Lot's to keep track of. Will update before noon. Stay tuned!

Why? Just 36! Hrs ago he posted he was not convened. Literally all he does is give all the possible outcomes and then toots his own horn when one actually takes place and says see I told you.
