South Shore Still Waiting For Relief...

It's not very often that we find little or no rain from NOLA to the Florida's beaches.  That is the case this afternoon and should be that way for the next couple of days.
With more sun and no showers it's no wonder temps are well into the 90s.    But lower dew points have made it down to the North Shore and that should result in cooler over night lows for the next several mornings.

The cold front draped across Louisiana is more a boundary between drier air and the more humid air over us.  I still expect those lower dew points to stagger down to the Gulf coast making our mornings feel nicer even south of Lake P.   This dry pattern should hang around into the weekend with only an isolated PM Storm.
At this time yesterday Hurricane Isaias was about to make landfall along the S.C./N.C. coasts.  He had raced all the way into eastern New York and is still classified as a Tropical Storm.  He became a killer over night with 12 tornadoes, one which struck a trailer park.  Unlike some past August Hurricanes, Isaias didn't linger for days and has roared northward at speeds of 40 mph.
The rest of the Tropics are quiet and should stay that way for another 7-10 days+.  The GFS (American) model suggests a possible tropical disturbance could enter the southern Gulf during the 3rd week in August.  We'll have plenty of time to watch out for it.  Stay tuned!
