Very Mild Beginning Before the Christmas Chill...

After last night's soaking rainfall. today turned slightly cooler, but with sunshine on the South Shore it felt very comfortable.    The next 2-3 days will see above normal highs before the big chill arrives on Christmas Eve.

The computer models have been showing a deep upper trough developing over the eastern states and that tells me they may be correct.  The middle two graphics are today's upper flow and  the forecast for Christmas Eve.  Note the super cold (40-45 below) across central Canada and that upper dip should bring that chill into the lower 48.

Before the chill comes,  this week will begin mild as there is no cold air between us and Montana.  We'll have plenty of time to prepare our yards for the late week freeze, but you might want to get started Monday & Tuesday as some showers return late Wednesday.

Clouds have been slow to clear and some dense fog could develop over night.  The question is will the skies be clear tomorrow night for the viewing of the "Christmas Star" event.  Right now, I think it will be clear..  We'll see.  Stay tuned!
