Snow Blankets Texas & Oklahoma...

Thankfully last night's severe threat never happened with most of us getting less than an inch of rain.  So I thought I'd show you where the weather was nasty.  From the Rio Grande of West Texas northward through Midland into central Oklahoma 4-8" of the white stuff covered the ground.  It shows up on satellite pictures plus my son (Justin) sent me some snow scenes from downtown Oklahoma City.

That storm has weakened buy is still producing a wide swath of nasty weather.

We actually enjoyed a lovely day with plenty of sunshine, lower humidity and temps around 70.

A secondary surge of cooler air will push through over night with Saturday's highs staying mainly below 60.  One thing that is lacking on this 1st day of 2021 is frigid Arctic air.  Sure it's cold with some snow falling, but nobody is below zero.

In fact Montana is in the 40s.  The next 7 days could see some 30s on the North Shore, but no freezing temperatures are expected.  We'll see another midweek warm up before the next front arrives.  There are signs that January will be a colder month than December, but that is to be expected during the heart of Winter.  Stay tuned!
