My daughter-in-law (Emily) took Ethan out to help shovel out the driveway. But noooooo, Ethan didn't want that. Nope, he went and got out his bike to "help" Mommy. I can already see the future snowmobile ability in him! Unfortunately, there are many suffering from the snow & cold and not enjoying it at all. Snow is never wasted on the young!
As you can see the worst weather tonight is from Fort Smith, Little Rock, Memphis on over to Nashville. I-40 was totally closed in Arkansas. As this system passes us by, colder air will return for Thursday and Friday bringing back another freeze threat.
The warm frontal graphic is outdated as you can see by looking at the temperatures and wind direction. We never did get into the warm air except down south of the city. Since we are back into the cold air, our threat for severe weather tonight has ended. However, we still could hear a rumble of thunder or two.
In fact, they are several lightning strikes with the cluster of storms on the North Shore. This is a cold rain that will make tonight an uncomfortable night to be outside. We don't need to run any water tonight as the lows will be well above freezing.
Friday and Saturday mornings could be a different story, but we will have time to review that tomorrow. The best news is a warm up is coming for the weekend and next week. So keep the plants protected, the heavy coats at the ready and the knowledge that in the South, Spring (March) is just around the corner! Stay tuned!

Thanks Bob.. We are all young at some point.. we are all shoveling at some point in our life, and at some point we hope that we have a way to work where we can get through all the snow at some point. You of all people who grew up in the snow know, shoveling is a part of life. Snow however is a reminder that nature is awesome. Snow is beautiful, and its tranquil, and it sucks up all the ambient noise if for just a couple of days. Snow is beautiful, peaceful, and gorgeous. Maybe we should embrace nature, stop worrying about corporate american and getting back to work.
take care cuz,
Kenn
