Chilly Week Ahead, But No Snow!

This morning Zack Fradella showed why this week will remain cold as the upper trough remains over the eastern states.   This is not record cold as the Arctic air across Canada has moderated a good deal.

You snow lovers would love to be up where the "Canadian Clippers" keep diving out of Canada bringing significant snow after snow.

The top scene is from my sister (Carol) in Whiting, Indiana this morning after 4-8" overnight.  The next clipper is already coming their way for tomorrow..

The next thing to watch is the upper low coming out of the SW.  Low clouds over south Texas will come our way and that should keep morning lows above freezing on the South Shore.

With the surface high right over us and with clear skies, temps will crash after dark.   If the clouds don't get here, temps. could go lower than forecasted.

With our normal/average high in the low 60s, we'll stay well below that all week.  Finally, MSY got below freezing this morning dropping to 28.  That is also what my sensor read.

Kind of interesting to see the cold all the way down to Miami.  Even the Sunshine State was chilly.  Stay tuned!
