Do You Remember 4 Years Ago? Let it Snow !

Before I get into our weather, let me go back to our last "Real" snow on January 17, 2018.  I only know this because sent me a reminder on my cell phone showing my snow pics.

It wasn't much, but it did whiten the ground and had Bailey sniffing around trying to figure out what is this stuff?!!!  The latest winter storm did underperform after all the hype, but some areas from northern Mississippi into the NE did get 6-12".   Look at these pictures sent to my sister (Carol) from her friend in Ohio.

Suzanne lives in Tallmadge, OH. (south of Cleveland & north of Akron) and it looks like her cat had second thoughts about going out the front door!  Doesn't freshly fallen snow look pretty until you have to dig out?  Well I know some of you (perhaps many?) would like to see that here, I don't see it happening this weekend as we won't be deep enough into the cold air.  Sorry.

Our current shot of cold air has plunged down all the way past the Yucatan, but it is not frigid air.  Temps. are below normal, but they're not brutally cold.

The latest storm has now moved into Canada, but look at the temps coming out of Canada.  Below freezing for sure, but certainly not extreme cold.

In fact, as the center of the high moves to our east on Tuesday, look at the warm up to our west.  65 at Houston with Denver warmer than us!

We may see some frost around in the morning, but I moved all my plants back outside this afternoon.

Enjoy the sunshine tomorrow & Wednesday as another big cool down arrives on Thursday with the hints of a Gulf low forming late Friday into Saturday.  That would keep us in clouds & a cold RAIN with any snow limited to far north of Lake P.  The next 2 weeks look to be just what January historically averages as the coldest weeks of the year.   Be prepared for it.  Stay tuned!
