All Hail Argus 7 Years Ago...

It's hard to believe that 7 years have gone by since I was the Grand Marshall of the Krewe of Argus parade in 2016.  Two of my sons & their wives joined me for an unforgettable ride.  Like today, skies were sunny, but temperatures were in the 50s compared to today's 80+.

If you recall, Ch. 8 gave me a one month send off into retirement and the ride in Argus was the icing on the cake.  In all my 45 years in this city, I'm not sure if we ever had a better weather Mardi Gras?

It's all courtesy of an upper ridge over the Southeast that will not allow the Arctic chill to come our way.  I see no change in that pattern until later next week, so get use to the early heat.

While we're enjoying Springtime in the South, there is a major snow storm marching across the northern Plains.  North of the frontal boundary, it's very much still Winter.

So for the rest of this week into next, we'll stay well above normal/average.  However, don't put away your sweaters & heavy coats.

It's still 35-40 below over northern Canada.  History has been our guide.  When we're real warm, typically within 2-3 weeks it reverses and goes much colder.  Don't be surprised to see March colder than February despite the higher sun angle and longer days.   Cold air Geeks, don't despair!  Stay tuned!
