Computer Models Struggle With Future Upper Pattern Shift.

Understand that many of you are sick with this early season warmth/heat as we hit another record high today.  As I've repeated many times, aside from our December freeze, this was  very warm Winter here and for most of the eastern states.  Why?  Because the "Polar Vortex: failed to return over the East coast with the main upper trough reforming over & over again along the West Coast & Rockies. The results?  A brutal Winter for the West with little snow for the Great Lakes & Northeast.

Computer models have been trying to flip the upper pattern, but they change each day making any forecast beyond 3-4 days useless.  Here's what Zack showed us this morning.

What you don't see is the big dip in the upper trough over us.  That makes me think last Friday's outlook from NOAA needs to be adjusted.

We will probably see a cooling trend as we head into next week, but I see no Arctic blast coming.

We might see a weak front stagger through late Friday, but I'm not buying it until I see better upper support.  The biggest news coming this weekend is the time change.  Set your clocks ahead one hour (Spring forward) before you go to bed Saturday night.  It will mean I;ll be waking Bailey in daylight at 7 PM.  Stay tuned!
