We remain under a Flood Watch into Saturday as a slow moving front will stall just to our southeast and several fast moving upper disturbances trigger periods of showers & T-Storms. Because we are in the cold air sector, no severe weather is expected except along the coast and east of the Pearl River.
All the rain should pull away during the afternoon hours on Saturday, but clouds are likely to linger into Easter Sunday. Once the upper systems pass, drier air moves in.
It will be a close call for tomorrow's Crescent City Classic race. but sunrise services Sunday should be fine.
Next week could get interesting as the GFS model forecasts a Gulf low off the mouth of the River by Wednesday.
Since water temps are in the 70s, no tropical (warm core) development is expected. However, it could create some higher tides and wind along with some heavy rains. That's next week. Enjoy your holiday weekend. Stay tuned!
