Today is day 15 without rain, and there is no chance of rain before next weekend at the soonest. So this is a quick update about stuff you already know. Overnight we've had a 12 hour storm (Nadine) form and move inland while the next name (Oscar) developed from a wave into a Hurricane in less than 6 hours. Let's begin with Nadine.
Nadine's circulation may reform over the eastern Pacific tomorrow moving westward away from land. Oscar was a long watched wave coming across the Atlantic that went north of Puerto Rico. Over night he quickly blossomed into a Hurricane.
Neither of these storms can come northward as a large high blankets the SE. It will block anything trying to get into Gulf.
So we now have 15 named storms with 40+ days to go in hurricane season. My guess is there will be 2-3 more names used making it 18 for this season, Of course the "experts" will claim an accurate preseason forecast, however, we all know it has not been the "season from Hell". Sure, several states know location matters and their season was from Hell. But it was way less active than those 25-30 early season predictions. Stay tuned!
