For December, As Good As It Gets, Late Week Cool Down.

Still trying to recover from another Saint's loss.  We've been there before...let a team hang around and they could beat you at the end.  Washington did that and our guys tried, but bravo for Coach Rizzi going for the win at the end.  Alas, I feel like those of you cold air/snow geeks.  Here we are deep into December and highs will feel Spring-like.  That's because the storm track brings systems in from the Pacific across the northern tier of states cutting off any Arctic air from coming south.

You can see in the temperature plot that the real cold is gone from the lower 48.  In fact, the freeze line has retreated as far north as Green Bay (Saints play there next Monday) and Minneapolis.  Little change is expected until late this week when cold fronts will start coming our way.  The only weather issue locally will be dense morning fog as winds have decreased and dew points are 65-70.

I'm not seeing any fog along our coast yet, but it's only a matter of time.  The next 2-3 days will be way too warm for December.

In fact, it's time to go fishing with Captain Hylton Monday & Tuesday.  Finally...

One of the Giants of TV Broadcasting retired this week.  Mike Nelson was on Denver TV (Ch. 9 then 7) for decades.  I knew him since back in the 70s and last saw him when I ran the Bolder Boulder in 2018.  Mike was the MC of the award ceremony at Folson Field for many years.  Geez, his hair wasn't white back then.  As you can see from me, gray hair is better than no hair!  Enjoy retirement Mike!  Next post will be Tuesday or Wednesday.  Stay tuned!
