Snow Bee-Gone, Wintry Wonderland, Cajun Engineering

This is a quick final update on today's Historic snowstorm that now heads to the East Coast.  They will probably have similar issues since the Deep South is not prepared to handle "garden variety" northern snows.  I begin showing how the last edge of the falling snow has cleared the Mississippi coast, but lingers back over south Louisiana.

Hello Tallahassee, Savannah, Charleston & Myrtle Beach.  You'll wake up to a white wonderland in the morning.  MSY is the official measuring station for New Orleans and they reported 8".  However, just by looking around my yard, it was more than that.

I had to clear out a space for Bailey and the snow depth in my yard was 9-10".

I have a flat table that also had depth to nearly 11"   But MSY is the "official" station.

So without a snow shovel, I had to be creative with how to dig a path for Bailey and to my shed.  Can you say "baking pan"?!!!

Might not have been great, but it helped me do the job.  Tomorrow, it's on to the front yard.

The good thing about snow is it acts as insulation from the cold.  Hopefully, that will help my outside plants.  Finally, we have to drip the water tonight, BUT NOT YET!

Temperatures at 7 PM have come up slightly.  That will change as skies clear.  Even the North Shore is borderline Pipe Rule right now.

I will start to run a narrow stream of Hot & Cold water just before I go to sleep around 10:30.  Run the faucet farthest from where the main water line enters your house.  This is not a one-night issue as tomorrow's highs will struggle to get above freezing.

So treasure these snow pictures as today was truly an unusual event.  I enjoyed being a shut-in!  FOX 8 was informative, educational, and entertaining, but then again I'm biased!  Stay tuned!
