Just a week ago, I was up in western Kentucky, and I thought it was cold (20s at night). Since most days were sunny, it really didn't feel that bad. This week is colder, along with upper disturbances racing from the SW, and buda bing, some white stuff fell around Bowling Green. These pictures came from Justin & Emily.
As you can see, they tried to build a snowman, but I'm seeing a turkey! What do you see? We are not about to ditch the low clouds and rain until the axis of the upper trough moves to the East Coast.
Yesterday's wave of heavy rain is now over north Florida & Georgia. Another round is expected on Saturday.
You can see on the temperature map why we're getting rain. Even though it's chilly, it's not Arctic cold. In fact, you have to go north of St. Louis to find below-freezing temps. You snow geeks don't give up. We're only in early December, and more opportunities will be coming. It's a damp, cold today, but nowhere near cold enough for snow.
We will see some milder spells coming, but for now, it's heavy coat time. I'm 90% moved in and loving Copeland Tower. Thanks to Beth Bettencourt-Lechler & her team for making magic and moving me in. My recent hip replacement limited any help I could offer. What do you think, Gang?
And a special thanks to my very dear friend Mandy in Monroe for sending my first housewarming gift. For over a decade, we spent Christmas with her in Monroe. She made this stocking for me years ago. I may have no tree or decorations, but I will always have my close friends to celebrate our lives. Thanks to all of you for your wonderful comments. Yes, Bob will move on and learn to love again...with your help! Stay tuned!
