As our hurricane season nears its end, worldwide we have 4 named storms in the Pacific and 2 in the Atlantic. The Pacific has 3 hurricanes with two of them being major. Another might threaten Hawaii again.
NHC abruptly turns Hurricane Nolo away from the Islands, but not by much.
By far the strongest storm is Polo with wind now up to 180 MPH !!! His track stays away from Mexico initially, but turns back towards the coast later on. This could bring some flooding rains to Texas next week.
It's rare to find two major hurricanes so close together.
Polo once again had the 'stadium effect" this morning. The Atlantic has two named storms, but they are far weaker and will affect very few. Fay & Gonzalo are way out there.
All eyes are focused close to home where an intense Nor'easter is developing.
NHC hasn't hatched in an area for tropical formation, but Joe Bastardi of Weather Bell feels they should since the impacts along the coast will be very much like a hurricane.. Note there are no storms around the center currently. Both the Euro & GFS are identical on forecast solutions for Saturday & sunday.
The WPC's rain totals along the coast could reach 4-8", but the real issues will be winds and erosion. The network news programs will be all over this. locally,
