Fat Lady is Singing !!!

For those of you who watched my 5 & 9 PM broadcasts, I indicated I believe the 2007 hurricane season is over...at least for us. Why? History is on our side. There has only been ONE major (Cat. 3+) hurricane cross the LA. coast in October (1893) and that was during the first week. In modern record keeping, there has NEVER been a major hurricane reach us after the first week. Looking at the computer guidance for the next 10 days to 2 weeks, the fronts will keep coming with a really strong front bringing sweater & jacket weather by Oct. 22nd. More importantly, the upper level steering currents will keep anything that does develop scooting well to our south & east. That's why I say the Fat Lady is singing..."turn out the lights, the fronts are coming."

Does that mean we let down our guard & forget about a late season storm? Of course not. What I want you to know is that the danger for a major storm that would require mass evacuation has passed us. Let's enjoy the "good feel" air that will be coming for the reast of this week.
