Looking For Julia & For next Cold Front...

We all know the deeper we get into October, the less likely we need to worry about a tropical threat.  In the past, I've placed my call into the "Fat Lady" to come sing..."Turn out the lights, the party is over."   Hurricane Zeta back in 2020 cured me of thinking we could not get hit by a Cat. 3+ storm after October 10th.  So we do not have her singing anymore.  However, seeing the water temps at Shell Beach now in the lower 70s, and seeing more fronts coming, I feel confident to say our season here is over.  That doesn't mean there will not be more threats coming into the Gulf.  It just means I don't think the NORTHERN Gulf has to worry.  Let's see what's out there.

NHC has TD 12 way out in the Atlantic so we don't need to watch that.  Closer into the Islands is Invest 91 L that is still an open wave moving along the central American coast.  That could be Julia later this week once the disturbance reaches the Caribbean.  Its track will take it into central America and not be our problem.

There is a weak wave moving over the western Caribbean, but models do nothing with that.  The Gulf has nothing organized, nor is anything expected for the next 7=10 days.  So let's focus on the cold fronts.

There are three upper lows over the country with the deepest off the East Coast.  The main jet stream is still over Canada, so we have to wait for our next dip to bring down the Canadian chill.  Note the teens, 20s and 30s up over northern Canada.  It's only a matter of time Gang.

This week we have a slow warming trend, but the dew points remain low so it doesn't feel August awful.

We've seen a lot of fair weather cumulus today, but no rain on radar.  Highs have warmed into mid-80s and add a few more degrees before our next front arrives this weekend.

Today I begin my 76th year on this planet.  Translation, I've reached my 75th B-day.  Going out to Irene's in the Quarter with dear friends.  Gotta have their best lamb chops in da World!  Stay tuned!

My parents were SERIOUS Nash fans.... and a few yrs before you retired, I turned my mother into a Bob fan! lol
