At mid-day,TD #10 is spinning just off the coast south of Panama City, Fl. It may strengthen some before landfall, although the upper low is still making this a "cold core" system...sub-tropical in nature. The NHC track hugs the coast making landfall near BIX after daybreak on Saturday. That would be good for us as we would stay on the weaker side of the system. What I will be watching for this afternoon and tonight is any shift to a more westward direction that would increase the impacts on us. Right now I don't see that happening. What I would like to see is a veer to the north turning inland near Pensacola tonight.
Worst case scenario is this will bring a rain shield across most of the Gulf coast...not a bad thing since most areas are way below normal rainwise. Some wind gusts could approach 50 mph on Saturday and that could cause some power outages. Coastal locations will see higher tides of 2-3 ft. above normal causing some minor flooding. Fox 8 is doing hourly updates and that will continue until landfall. Next update here at 4 PM. Bob
