In my 30+ years of tracking tropical systems, I've seen some strange movements (Juan's double loop, Danny stalling over Mobile bay) but I can't recall watching an upper low create such anxiety for so long. Even though we now have a surface low west of Tampa, there are no T-Storms around it. All the action is much farther north beginning to impact the Florida Panhandle. Computer models continue to forecast a movement of the surface low toward the Mississippi-Alabama coast by Saturday morning. That would keep us on the weaker side. One model brings it just south of the Louisiana coast. We don't want that to happen as that track would bring us higher tides, stronger winds and heavy rainfall. There is still the possibility this system could be drawn northward and then to the NE up an old frontal boundary. One models does that. Due to the continue uncertainty of this system, FOX 8 will begin hourly updates tonight lasting until whenever landfall occurs. My gut tells me whatever develops will stay east of GPT-BIX keeping most , if not all, of the bad weather away from us.
I'll have another update Friday morning.

I agree Bob. I've never seen so much anguish and anxiety over an upper level low, accompanied with a surface low that can't even be seen by the untrained eye.
I just wish the thing would come ashore so we can forget about it ... but then again ... on another station this morning ... a meteorologist mentioned that we also need to begin watching the weather disturbance in the carribean for possible tropical development early next week.
*sigh*
I was talking with a friend and she stated that the Walmart by her has been wiped out of all bread and water.
I guess people feel the doom and can't handle the idea that it's been 2 years since they had to evacuate.
Bob, thank you for putting a little more control on what's being posts.
Hi Bob. Thank you for your wonderful coverage of this upper level low. I live in Hancock County. You provide us with excellent coverage. Not all the New Orleans stations give so much attention to Hancock County. We really appreciate you. You were a Godsend for us during Katrina.
I wanted to tell you, i remember you from when i was a little girl, at Holy Name of Mary School in Algiers. You came to our school and talked about weather. I am 40 years old now. just a trip down memory lane. thanks so much Bob. Your AWESOME~!!!

Hi Bob!
I agree with you...its like the hurricane center is dieing for some 'dirty laundry'! I live in
Gulfport...we could certainly use a good soaking..and some breeze to knock the dead limbs from the trees that Katrina left... maybe we will get just that.
Love your weather show..ive been watching you for at least 25 yrs!
