Great Weekend Weather !!!

Wow! Now this is what October is supposed to be...mostly sunny, pleasantly cool with low humidity. The good news? No major changes are coming this week as the brisk northeast winds are keeping the Gulf muggies far offshore. That should mean the rest of October will stay dry, but it'll still go into the record books as the second wettest October behind October of 1985 (Hurricane Juan).

We now have the 14th named storm of the season in Tropical Storm Noel. Years from now, people will think 2007 was an active hurricane season based on the # of storms. In reality, 9 of the 14 systems lasted 2 days or less with 2 of them being "sub-tropical". As I mentioned 4 weeks ago, our hurricane season is over. Noel will stay well east of the United States as westerly winds will turn him out to sea once he clears Haiti & the Dominican Republic. There still is time for another named storm or two to form in the Caribbean as the official season runs to November 30th.

It's sad to see that the best month of the year (weather wise) gone by so quickly. In the month of November, it's usually a much stormier month than October.
