Watching the Gulf...Again.

Well, we have reached October and the chances of a major hurricane hitting Louisiana are slim & none. (The exception being the great Cheniere-Caminada Hurricane of 1893) Of course we could still see a weaker storm like Juan in 1985, but our levees will be able to handle that. Entering the Gulf tonight is another UPPER low and computer models continue to show a SURFACE low will develop tomorrow west of the FL. Keys. Some models bring it our way while other don't. Should we be concerned? Not right now since the UPPER low is creating a lot of wind shear. IF a SURFACE low develops, NHC probably will make it a depression late tomorrow or early on Wed. If it goes to our east, we'll see very little, if any rainfall. If it goes to our west, we'd get more widespread rainfall which we really could use. As I have said before, until "it" forms, let's not get too concerned about something that may never affect us. I'll keep you posted.

Ah! The most comfortable month of the year, warm days and cooler nights. Escaping the summer heat and not yet in the hands of brutal Old Man Winter. I wish it was this time of year again.
