We continue to enjoy some warm Fall weather, but things will be changing later this week. One cold front arrives Thanksgiving morning with another coming on Sunday. Each one will bring colder air as the winter jet stream begins digging farther and farther to the south. It's a little early to worry about freezing temperatures south of Lake P. , but you should already be preparing your house & yard.
With this changing weather pattern coming, it appears our rain chances will be going up. That is good news since our yearly deficit is over 9 inches. We really could use a good soaker!
While watching The Weather Channel over the weekend, I was shocked to finally see their "climate expert" Heidi Cullen give an opposing side to global warming. The former Director of the National Hurricane Center, Dr. Neil Frank (Currently with KHOU-TV in Houston) disagreed with climate experts connecting increased hurricane activity with global warming. (How dare he? !!!) Finally some balance? Hardly...in the Times-Picayune the past 2 days have been more articles coming from the "climate experts" (translation-computer modelers) predicting doom & gloom for the world. For balance, I'm getting ready to read a new book called COOL IT by Bjorn Lomberg. You might do the same.
