Severe Storms Thursday ?
You'll need to pay attention on Thursday and again late on Saturday as there is the potential for some severe storms moving across the Gulf South. An upper disturbance will be the trigger for Thursday's storms with a strong cold front being the trigger for the storms late Saturday night into Sunday. We will enjoy spring-like temperatures in the 70s for the next couple of days before it turns colder on Sunday and even colder for Christmas day into next week. No real cold is expected, but we need to keep a watch up north where some brutally cold air (40-45 below zero ! ) is building over Alaska. That could head southward into the lower 48 for the first part of January. Winter officially begins at 12:08 AM on Saturday.
