I just have to share this one with you. In the current issue of the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society is this cute "ditty". "If people knew that they were threatening the environment by eating more meat, they might think twice before ordering a burger." I'm not kidding here. A hospital in New York says "...eating less meat could help slow global warming by reducing livestock and the methane flatulence (farts!) they produce. It goes on to say ..."people should eat fewer steaks and hamburgers and reduce global red meat consumption by 10% to have an effect" (on slowing global warming)
I'm not sure how to respond except to say we are being told what kind of cars to drive, what kind of light bulbs to use, how often to fly in airplanes etc...and now what we should eat. Dr. Heidi Cullen of the Weather Channel already says we shouldn't drink bottled water. What's next? What other freedom will they try to take from us? All in the name of going GREEN? Sometimes I feel like our country is going more RED...like that country back in the Cold War era. What do you think? Right now I can't wait to go out and get a big juicey burger...dressed of course!

Maybe the best way to reduce livestock would be to eat more meat!
Seriously, I think the main thing here to watch out for is who is going to control what. We now see a trend for extremists in our country (who really represent a minority of the population)to be able to coerce the media which in turn influences politics. How could this happen in a country which is supposed to be ruled by the majority vote?
Oh well, I'm going out and enjoy the cold weather this morning, right after I eat my bacon!
So it comes downs to this, eating less meat? Global Warming pretty much affects everything, right down to the foods we eat, I really have no more response for this blog as this is pretty amazing.
