Severe Weather Again Next Week?

It seems to me that most of our severe weather threats this year have been coming during the over night hours when many folks are sleeping. It appears that may be the case again next Monday night into early Tuesday as another strong cold front is likely to bring more strong storms. As a way to help keep you and your family safe, FOX 8 has partnered with MAXPRO Windows, Midland Radio Corp & Walgreens to provide you with a progammable Specific Area Message Encoder(SAM-E) weather radio at a steep discount from retail prices. It's a great buy at $29.99 and could save you life. They'll be available at your nearest Walgreens beginning this Saturday. Look for the FOX 8 Storm Team display.

After a chilly start on Thursday, warmer air will return and stay thru the weekend. A few showers could develop on Friday & Saturday but chances will remain low until the cold front arrives late on Monday.

This is a fantastic idea. After Katrina we moved to Denham Springs where we lived in a travel trailer for two years while getting our house built. For some reason I found that especially on the
Northshore the weather seemed more turbulent, and would wake up at night with the wind rocking everything. I decided to invest in one of these radios that you can program and will only send out an alert in the parishes that you program. I still use it when the weather gets bad even though I now live in a house. (Tornados)You are always ahead of everyone. Thanks Bob!!

The Weather Channel always says that you need to keep those radios next to your bed when thunderstorms happen in the nighttime hours. So it's very good to have weather radios. It also looks like the weekend looks pretty good, excluding morning fog with temperatures into the 70s.
