Since our stormy weather has left and the next several days look delightful...after a chilly Thursday start...I'd like to suggest a trip I took with my 2 older sons this past weekend. We left on a train from downtown Denver and took a leisure 6 hour train trip (Amtrak) into and thru the Continental Divide to a city called Glenwood Springs where there is an enormous hot springs pool. The scenery was awesome and the animals were all over...big horn sheep, elk, deer and several hawks. If you're in a hurry, don't take this trip. I found it very relaxing...food is available...you can sip on your favorite beverage and read a book if you desire. For me it was a perfect way to unwind from my daily broadcast schedule, but more importantly, re-bond with my sons who have chosen to live outside Louisiana. I'm not getting paid to plug Colorado, but it is one great state to visit. The mountains were still covered with snow, but I'm sure the views are just as pretty in the summer. You might give it a try. There are several quaint older hotels that could make for a nice romantic getaway.
