Feeling Guilty?

Since our weather is rather quiet, thought I'd share the latest USA TODAY article that says "more Americans feel guilty for not living greener". I'm all for living greener, IF that's what you want to do. We should all try to protect this planet, not waste energy and create as little waste(garbage) as possible. However, we should not be made to feel guilty for being SUCCESSFUL. Environmentalists want you to stop using pampers, bottle water or plastic bags. But what if you Dad is the delivery man for Kentwood or Abita Springs? What if your retirement savings rely on the stock of the company that makes Pampers? The Green Movement wants us to use bio-fuels, but we now know that has driven up the price of corn making food more expensive.

The article says, ..."people understand their actions have a long term impact." But sometimes the short term impacts need to be taken into account too. If you are out of work or don't have enough money for food, do you really care about going green? We need to think before we act.
