Hurricane Preparedness Week...

It's that time of the year again when we need to start thinking about what we will do if another hurricane threatens. No need to over react as the first 2 months of the season are historically quiet. I'd suggest you use each week to buy some supplies so that you spread the cost out over many weeks. For example, one week you buy some canned foods, the next extra bottled water, the next some batteries etc. There are many web sites that offer suggestions on what you should have in your personal hurricane kit. Bottom line...personal responsibility.

There is a small circulation the Hurricane Center is watching tonight. No need to worry as it's in the Pacific. Wind shear over the Caribbean remains very strong tonight. Our hope is that pattern continues especially into the heart of the season - August & September. The FOX 8 annual Hurricane Special, WEATHERING THE STORM - 2008, will air on Wednesday June 4th from 6-7 PM. Like last year, we focus on the rebuilding of our levees. As always, I invite suggestions on what you feel we should be focusing on during this coming season.

Bob, living in Denham we do very little if anything to prepare like we did in New Orleans for hurricanes, as the main threat here is wind. Yet we still need to prepare. You are airing your special in June. Can they televise your special here?
