Dolly soon a Hurricane...

Satellite loops clearly show Dolly is becoming better organized and likely will be a hurricane later tonight or early on Tuesday. Fortunately for Louisiana, she continues more westward than northward at a rather brisk clip of 16 mph, but as she develops, she's likely to also slow down and make a turn towards the north. Since Dolly is already near 92 degrees West, any northward turn would take her mainly towards the Texas coast. Again...at this time...The only impacts from Dolly on Louisiana will be to increase tides a bit along with keeping winds breezy and bringing more tropical moisture over South Louisiana. Hopefully with daytime heating that will produce more daytime showers resulting in temperatures being less hot. We tied the record high (97 in 2000) today at New Orleans Armstrong Int'l.
