After 2 rainy days with high humidity, today was a welcomed relief...but it won't last very long. Winds will return to the east by Friday afternoon and the SE by Saturday signaling a return of the Gulf Muggies. It'll start to feel summer-like again over the weekend and will last for most of next week. The next really strong cold front isn't likely to arrive for another 7-10 days.
There is nothing but strong shearing winds over most of the tropical Atlantic and Caribbean. It appears we are in another quiet period which is great for us. The farther we get into October, the less likely we'll have to deal with even a weak tropical storm. As I indicated earlier, I feel we are done for this Hurricane Season. Hopefully the Corps will begin working on the closure of the MRGO and the new barrier at the funnel of the MRGO & Intercoastal Waterway.

Yep this month is starting to slip on by...its slowly getting later and later in the month. I believe you are correct about our Hurricane season is over....woohoo.
Seems every year we go thru this type of weather. We get some teaser cool fronts come thru in late September and early October. Only to have to wait 2 to 3 weeks before we get another significant cold front. Still looking forward to that first big cold front and much colder weather...
Chomping at the bit to break out my Christmas Lights...
