Late Season Chill Coming...

No we are not in January or February when the waters of Lake Pontchartrain dipped into the lower 50s, but a real late season cold snap is coming that will bringing back freezing temperatures to the Northshore on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. With the Lake much warmer now at 70+ degrees, the Southshore should stay in the 40-45 range as the windflow is expected to be northerly Monday and Tuesday. If you have any tender plants, Southshore should be OK but Northshore and west of Lake P. will need to take precautions(covering) so your plants aren't damage. The cold won't last long as the warm up begins on Wednesday. Another front will sweep thru Thursday with a few showers bringing drier air for Friday and Saturday. Fortunately, no prolonged heavy rainfall is expected this week allowing the local rivers to get back under flood stage.

This is a very nice cold front, yes it does reminds me of a strong November cold front. I could believe how strong the winds have been...talk about a wind chill.

Its nice to have this in early April when the muggies and warm temps can be the norm.

I guess I'll have to wait a little while longer before I jump into the pool...
