Tropics Staying Quiet...Ring of Fire Pattern Here

With the Weather Channel showing huge plumbs of African Dust moving westward across the tropical Atlantic, we won't see any tropical waves developing anytime soon. There is an upper low over the Western Caribbean interacting with a weak wave, but it is heading westward into the Yucatan, The central Gulf has an old frontal boundary, but there remains strong west winds (shear) across the northern Gulf that should prevent any development this holiday weekend. Another east coast trough will bring us yet another July front early next week. That will increase our rain chances dramatically resulting in temperatures being less hot. Until then, we have the hot upper high over Texas with a Ring of Fire pattern rotating around it. We could see more near record heat thru the weekend unless the afternoon T-Storms arrive sooner. Stay safe this weekend, stay hydrated and try to "feel cool." Nicondra says the weekend is a "3 snowball day"!
