Ana & Bill, But Danger maybe in Gulf?
As promised days ago, the Tropics are going "nuts". Yea we have Ana & Bill, but they are soooo far away it's FOOLISH to speculate where they "might" go. Safe to say we have over a week to watch & prepare IF they get into the Gulf. Of more concern to me tonight is what appears to be TD # 4 developing west of Ft. Myers in the eastern Gulf. NHC says there is "Low" probability of this becoming a storm...however, a look at radar loops tonight reveal a well defined circulation and a check of nearby buoys indicate surface pressures have started to fall. As I have said many times in the past...I don't start to worry until a storm gets in the Gulf. Although this is not a storm yet, it is in the Gulf and over some of the warmest waters with reduced upper wind shear. If you get up for church tomorrow and notice a marked increase in wind speeds...it's more than likely we have a developing tropical system close to home. Yea we do have 2 growing named storms way out in the Atlantic, but forget about them for now and focus your attention on closer to home. I'll try to have a midday blog update on Sunday

Keep the updates coming.. we monitor them frequently.
I'm already here waiting for the update..lol
ooops! Guess we will be brewin' that coffee early tomorrow.
ITA with everyone else. We'll be watching and waiting for your updates and praying everything just dies out.
Prayer is a powerful thing especially during huricane season!
I need to know where this "low" is heading NOW, not when it gets to be a hurricane and is already upon us. When it looks a duck and quacks like a duck...
Looks like TD4 is headed towards the Florida Panhandle.
Why can't anyone but NOAA issue weather warnings?
For Gustav, wonderful MS closed off I10 East to us Louisianians after things got a little tuff so I certainly hope we will reciprocate this year. GO NORTH YA'LL not west . . . If I want to go east THEN go north to relatives, it should be MY choice!!!
Peace,
:) Barbara
Just wondering...
Since TD 4 and the new area of disturbance are in the Gulf, in that warm stretch, won't they help cool off that area by leeching off the warm weather?
TD 4 is now Tropical Storm Claudette
