Nothing has changed in my thinking from yesterday as all indications point to a wet spell of weather here for the next 3 days. NHC said tonight that upper winds appear too fast for any strong surface development, however, whatever might form over the western Gulf means we'll be on the wet side of it. IF lines of T-Storms develop, we'll have to watch out for the "training" effect of cells that could result in 4-6" of rainfall in just a few hours. that would cause significant street flooding so pay close attention to the weather for the next couple of days.
Still no signs of another strong cold front coming for the next 7-10 days, but the cold is building up in Canada and it's only a matter of time before sweater weather returns.

Could this mean a tropical depression or tropical storm over the weekend? Any chance this might become Claudette-caliber?
Nope, upper winds too strong to see any tropical development. More like a fall/winter development. Could get heavy rainfall thru Monday.
