Weekend looks to be in Da Dumper...
Satellite loops continue to show an upper level low over south Texas west of San Antonio. This is producing very fast SW winds over the Gulf and should prevent any development of sfc. low pressure. It is producing widespread showers and T-Storms over much of the Gulf coast from Texas to Florida. For Texas, this is much needed rainfall. For us it means we're likely to wipe out much of the deficit(was 8+ ") from the 1st of the year. It appears to be a weekend to watch football (Saints on FOX 8 Sunday) or read a good book or two. It won't rain all the time, just a good part of the time this weekend. I'll be in the dome (not for the Saints on Sunday) on Saturday to watch Tulane try to be respectable vs. BYU. It should be a wide open game with two QBs who like to throw the ball. My middle son Ryan is visiting this weekend from Colorado Springs and is a Tulane fan. Win or lose, it's nice to be with family.

Well I do plan on being at the Saints game on Sunday, even if I have to take my pirogue!
All this rain has my pool overflowing...and I am sure it will drop the water temp enough to kill any attempts to go swimming that one last time.
Went to St. Louis last weekend. The night temps were comfy cool and the temps during the day were mild and nice...come on fall!!!
We went to see The Arch and was surprised that there was a street leading down to the river. We drove along the river, right in front of the Atch. They had parking even closer to the river and it is open as long as the river isn't high enough to flood those parking areas...I thought that was kind of neat. I never thought of that, being we have the levees and Bonnie Carrie when the River gets too high here...
The City reminded me so much of home aa it should, they even had some Fleur de Lis in their CBD.
Speaking of which...Go Saints...predicting and electrifying crowd for the game...
AT OR ABOUT 1:15PM CDT, I NOTICED WHAT APPEARED TO BE A COLLAPSE OF THE UPPER LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE AND ALSO CLUSTERING OF T-STORMS IN THE EAST CENTRAL GULF OF MEXICO ON GOES WATER VAPOR LOOP. WITH THE UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OFF THE TEXAS COAST SEEMING TO PULL NORTHWARD, THIS COULD SPELL TROUBLE.
Bob,
Have a good time at the Tulane game. I am a student and fan! Go Tulane!!!!
unfortunately the depression has a better chance than THE GREENIES DID.
