NWS today says Oct. 2009 is now the 9th wettest and if we get another 1.32" at the airport in Kenner, we'll move into the top 5. That should be no problem since we have 2 more opportunities to add to our totals. The first comes tonight into midday on Tuesday with an even better chance coming ahead of another front late Thursday into Friday. Do you remember the wettest October? Happened back in 1985...yep, that was the year of the "pretzel" storm, Hurricane Juan who made a double loop over south Louisiana. Ended up with over 13+ inches that month.
Mentioned tonight that if we don't see another hurricane this year, 2009 will go down as the quietest season since 1982. Any November storms will be down over the Caribbean. Keep the shear going.
All you cold air freaks...gotta wait until next week to see any real cold air again. No east coast trough this week.

thanks for the update Bob!
What about severe weather overnite? All good?
Thanks again!
For all your readers entertainment, I found this AP story, it now seems now we have statisticians proving global warming.
I was particularly interested in the last line of the article...which said...The current El Nino is forecast to get stronger, probably pushing global temperatures even higher next year, scientists say. NASA climate scientist Gavin Schmidt predicts 2010 may break a record, so a cooling trend "will be never talked about again."
I just find this so amusing, Its almost like they want global warming or wish it upon us.....and it must be a sin to say the earth is now cooling.
Hope the link still exists.

The New World Order wants us to believe that so they can impose carbon tax etc...it's a political game of course Didn't somebody sue Al Gor for the global warming lies? Somebody did...
Don't forget about icecap.gov. That is one Bob told us about. Always some good information there.
Hey Bourbon St., I am ready for those boils! But if the Earth warms too much, When exactly will crawfish season begin??
