Historically, March should see 27 days of temperatures 70 or above. So far we're zero for 3 and likely will be zero for 6 before we finally hit 70 on Sunday. That means if the rest of March had highs 70 or above (very unlikely), we will have only 25 days with 70 or above. This cool pattern really started back in the last week in January so we are in week 6 of below normal/average temperatures. We will have a short break this weekend, but longer range guidance indicates the cold will keep coming back well into the middle of the month. What's the big deal? Fewer and smaller crawfish gang...and that's a big deal!
Our next rain chance comes late Monday when we could get stormy. Interesting article from ONLYREAL on Ocean COOLING. Might check out ICECAP.US for more articles about Climate Change...except they were written starting back in the 1800s and continuing thru now. Will get you thinking about all the Alarmist's "predictions". Seems it's happened before...over and over again.

Bob and Onlyreal,
I tried this morning and that Ocean Cooling article is "not available" on earthobservatory website.
Do you know where it has been "redirected" to?
Well, crawfish are still over $5.00 per pound boiled!!! Outrageous. I'm anxiously awaiting those all you can eat for $15.00 days! I am ready for spring! I imagine in late August I'll be praying for this weather, but for now, I think we have all had enough! Now it's on to hurricane season. Hey BOB and ONLY REAL - I can remember two times for sure when it snowed here in the greater NO area and the following summer we had a MAJOR hurricane. Besty and Katrina. Do you think there is any correlation between cold winters and extreme hurricane seasons? Just a thought. I know you don't want to start thinking about hurricanes already but before you know it June 1st will be upon us!
I believe the big issue with global warming is the rate at which it seems to be increasing. Since data is "fudged" and unrealiable to use to say whether the earth is warming or cooling just look at photographical evidence which is very clear. Glacier ice melting at increasing rates.
I am curious Caveman...Does this mean that the world is coming to an end? Does Cap and Trade will put more ice in the Glaciers?
Is this the first time the earth has warmed? And if its not, why wasn't the people of that time screaming global warming...or did that happen before man walked the earth?
I just don't know what the difference is for GW then and now. Is it only because we know and think we have too much co2 in the atmosphere?
As I have read on this site and tend to believe is that the earth goes thru cycles...I believe some long range cycles can be distinguished and some cycles as simple as the 4 different seasons to a cold front this week and warm weather the next.
