El Nino Gone...La Nina coming

Yep, the warming of the waters(El Nino) in the Pacific off the coast of South America have ceased and now are showing signs of going into a cooling cycle (La Nina). That is not the kind of news we want to hear since La Nina usually means less wind shear across the tropical Atlantic. NOAA will come out with their seasonal prediction this Thursday and I can promise you they will have numbers that will be nearly twice last year's 9 named storms. My guess is they will go 16-18 named storms, slightly higher than Dr. Gray's. My take? How can you go against all the predictors that point to a way above average/normal season? Hard to so why try. I can tell you, not all active seasons saw storms in the Gulf. Maybe we can be lucky again for another year, especially with the oil leak over so much of the Gulf. I'm not going to get alarmed by the big numbers, but will have my family plan ready as always. I've gotta stay during any tropical threat. My wife will not as we have outa town friends she can go visit. That way you don't have the expense of motels & food. Start thinking ahead Gang. Hurricane Season begins in one week.

I have always cruised in the fall and winter...I hope this cruise that I booked for August 28th will not be a MISTAKE. I wasn't even thinking of hurricanes when I booked it. Hopefully, at least for that week, it will be calm both here and in the Yucatan!! Didn't take out cruise insurance and would hate to loose all of that money!

Nashette, a client once went on a cruise and the cruise was cut short due to a storm...when we asked him about it, he said yeah the storm was moving at us at 14MPH but the ship outran it, it was going 18MPH...

Its nothing you can really control Nashette, just think positive and make sure your packed for everything.
