Lower Shear...Tropics getting Active...

Since El Nino has vanished and a La Nina episode appears to be developing, our tropical wind shear is not there to knock down any tropical development like last summer. There is a new system in the Western Caribbean that has a circulation tonight, but there are no T-Storms around the center. NHC has scheduled a plane to investigate this disturbance for Monday afternoon. IF they find a surface center, we'll be able to trust computer model predictions, but until then, trying to guess where this disturbance will go is pure folly. It's not in the Gulf and until it is, let's not get overly worried about it. We'll have plenty of time to react, if we need to. Yet another area of disturbed weather is out over the islands east of Puerto Rico. Again, way too soon to get concerned about something that may never affect us. I'll have an update tomorrow morning if needed.

A little swirl just off the mouth of the river is drifting northward tonight. It should increase our shower chances for Monday and it should also be quite breezy.
