With the on going crisis in the Gulf & BP's attempt to cap the well, the last thing we need is a tropical disturbance in the Gulf like last week. According to computer models and looking at satellite loops. it appears Mother Nature will give us a break right when we we need one. A weak front will get close to us tomorrow but will stall well north of the Gulf. That should remove any potential for development as the front remains over land. Winds and seas have diminished allowing clean up to resume and, more importantly, giving the BP engineers the opportunity to finish the delicate recapping of the gusher one mile under the surface of the Gulf. We should know by Monday or Tuesday whether they have stopped the flow. Sunday is church day for most of us. Let's asked the Creator to spare us of any more misery, if that is HIS will.
In the short term, it appears the upper high that was forecast to build over us will not be as strong. That should mean typical summer heat will build up daily spotty afternoon T-Storms as long as the weak surface frontal boudary remains in our neighborhood.
